Active Release Technique (ART)

A.R.T. is a soft tissue management system designed to rid injured areas of scar tissue. Dr. Kowalski employs A.R.T in musculoskeletal disorders to remedy injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, rotator cuff injuries, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, tennis elbow, headaches, and back pain which are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles.

A.R.T. is a hands-on approach to locating and treating soft tissue injuries. Soft tissue primarily refers to muscle, tendon, fascia and nerves. Cumulative Trauma Disorder (CTD) results from direct trauma, or by performing the same movement many times, aka repetitive motion. Examples of those prone to repetitive motion injuries include athletes with knee pain from running, office workers with wrist pain from typing, and manufacturing employees with low back pain from bending and twisting.
